Augusta in April is warm, humid and green in a way that flattens most colours. Anyone who has stood at Amen Corner in the afternoon knows the two things that matter: the walking is relentless and the sun arrives suddenly after a grey morning.

Practically, that means breathable fabric, flat shoes and one clear colour rather than a print, because prints disappear against that much foliage. Phones are famously not allowed on the grounds, so pockets matter less than usual and a small permitted bag matters more.
