• 1900s: Unofficial All-England Badminton Championships become a prestigious event in the sport. In 1934, England forms the International Badminton Federation with eight other countries.
• 1940s – 1950s: The establishment of the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup further increase the sport’s global notoriety. Numerous Asian players gain international recognition.
• 1960s – 1970s: Advancements in equipment and playing techniques lead to a more dynamic game. China emerges as a dominant force in international badminton.
• 1992: Badminton joins the Summer Olympic Games as a full-medal sport, winning a broader audience. Indonesia and South Korea win the first singles gold medals.
