FAQ

How many questions are in this paddleboarding quiz?

There are 33. Every question gives three options, and the correct answer stays behind the reveal button until you ask for it.

Where can I see the paddleboarding trivia questions and answers together?

The answer key near the bottom of the page lists all 33 questions with their correct answers in order, so a full round can be scored in one pass.

Are these SUP quiz questions difficult?

They are mixed. Basic gear and safety come first and suit anyone who has been out on a rental board, while the board design, stroke names and race questions later on are aimed at regular paddlers.

Can I use these questions for a club night or a paddle group?

Yes. Read the question and its three options aloud, let everyone write down a letter, then work through the answer key at the end and count the correct ones.

What is a good score on this paddleboarding quiz?

Anything above half is a good result. The scoring table under the last question turns your total into a rank, from Paddle Pupil at the bottom to Paddleboarding Pro at the top.

What does SUP stand for?

Stand-up paddleboarding, the sport of standing on a wide board and moving it with a single long paddle. It grew out of Hawaiian surfing and is now used for touring, racing, fishing and yoga.

What safety gear do you need for paddleboarding?

A leash so the board cannot drift away, a personal flotation device, and clothing suited to the water temperature. Checking the wind before setting out matters as much as the gear, because an offshore wind pushes a board away from land.

Which paddleboard is best for a beginner?

A wide inflatable board. Extra width makes it far more stable, inflatables are forgiving in a fall and easy to transport, and the loss of speed does not matter while you are still learning to stand.

How do you stand on a paddleboard?

Start on your knees near the middle of the board, place the paddle across the deck, then bring one foot at a time up to where your knees were. Keep your feet parallel and about hip-width apart, with a soft bend in the knees.
