25 Stylish Pickleball Outfits for Women Featuring Leggings

Leggings won pickleball, and I think for a good reason. Nothing rides, nothing flaps, nothing needs adjusting when you drop low for a dink at the kitchen line. Once I switched I stopped thinking about what I was wearing entirely, which is the whole point.

The one test I run before buying: squat in the changing room and look down. If the fabric goes sheer, put them back, no matter what the label says. After that it is a wide waistband that does not roll, a flat seam that does not chafe at the inner thigh, and a pocket big enough for a spare ball. Everything below assumes those. For the cold months the cold weather outfits use the same silhouette with more insulation, and the plus size edit picks the ones that flatter across sizes.

A quick word on length. Full length keeps the sun off and looks tidiest, seven eighths is the most versatile, and capri is the one to own if you play outdoors in summer. Most players end up with one of each. If you are still assembling the rest of your kit, our pickleball equipment list lists what is actually needed.

#1: Black Leggings with a Bright Polo

Black leggings with a bright polo. The base everyone owns, lifted by one loud colour on top so it never looks like a gym kit.

#2: Seven Eighth Leggings with a Cropped Tee

Seven eighth leggings with a cropped tee. The gap of ankle keeps the whole thing from looking heavy, even in a dark colour.

#3: Side Pocket Leggings with a Fitted Tank

Side pocket leggings with a fitted tank. A pocket that actually holds a ball is worth more than any print on the fabric.

#4: Navy Leggings with a White Long Sleeve

Navy leggings with a white long sleeve. Cooler than black in the sun and the white on top keeps it from reading as evening wear.

#5: Burgundy Leggings with a Cream Top

Burgundy leggings with a cream top. Autumn colours on a court are rare, which is exactly why they stand out in photographs.

#6: Textured Leggings with a Plain Polo

Textured leggings with a plain polo. The texture gives the outfit interest without the commitment of a print you might tire of.

#7: Two Tone Leggings with a Matching Tank

Two tone leggings with a matching tank. The panel down the side lengthens the leg and the matching tank ties it together.

#8: Olive Leggings with a Black Quarter Zip

Olive leggings with a black quarter zip. My cold weather default for two seasons now, and it has never once looked wrong.

#9: High Rise Leggings with a Sports Bra Top

High rise leggings with a sports bra top. For the hottest days, when the high rise is the only coverage you actually want.

#10: Charcoal Leggings with a Coral Tee

Charcoal leggings with a coral tee. Softer than a black and orange pairing, and it hides the dust of an outdoor court.

#11: Mesh Ankle Leggings with a Sleeveless Top

Mesh ankle leggings with a sleeveless top. The mesh sits low where the heat gathers, which is smarter than mesh at the thigh.

#12: Cream Leggings with a Navy Polo

Cream leggings with a navy polo. Light leggings take nerve, but on an indoor court they look expensive and stay clean.

#13: Leggings with a Skort Layered Over

Leggings with a skort layered over the top. The compromise for anyone who wants a skirt on court and full leg coverage underneath.

#14: Fleece Lined Leggings for Winter Play

Fleece lined leggings for winter play. Thicker than they look in the photograph and the only pair I take out below ten degrees.

#15: Bold Floral Leggings

Bright floral leggings with a plain top. Florals on the leg are the friendliest way into pattern, because they move with you rather than sitting flat. Keep the top solid and pull one colour out of the print for it.

#16: High Waisted Navy Leggings

Plain navy leggings with a high waist. The pair to buy first. Navy goes with every top in your drawer, it is softer than black under bright court lights, and a high waist stays put through a full session.

#17: Geometric Print Leggings

Geometric print leggings in strong lines. Geometrics read as deliberate rather than decorative, which suits players who want pattern without flowers. The stronger the lines, the better they survive being stretched.

#18: Soft Pastel Leggings

Pale pastel leggings for a bright day. Pastels are the sheerness test in its purest form, so check them in daylight before you commit. Pass that test and they are the coolest thing you can wear in real heat.

#19: Compression Fit Leggings

True compression leggings. Not just tight, actually graduated compression, and the difference shows up the next morning rather than during the game. The pair I wear for a tournament day or back to back sessions.

#20: Mesh Panel Leggings

Leggings with mesh panels at the calf or behind the knee. The panels sit exactly where heat builds, and they make full length leggings wearable in summer. Check the mesh is fine, because a coarse one catches.

#21: Tropical Print Leggings

Loud tropical leggings. Holiday energy on a Tuesday evening, and pickleball is the sport that welcomes it. One rule only: the top has to be plain, in a colour taken straight from the print.

#22: Classic Grey Leggings

Heathered grey leggings. Grey is the quiet alternative to black and it flatters most tops better, but be honest about the shade: pale grey shows sweat, mid heathered grey does not. Buy the darker one.

#23: Ombre Fade Leggings

Leggings with a gradient fade from dark at the ankle to light at the hip, or the other way round. The fade lengthens the leg visually and it is the most flattering effect on this list. Dark at the hip is the safer direction.

#24: Leopard Print Leggings

Leopard print leggings. Divisive and I am firmly in favour. Animal print behaves like a neutral in practice, which means it goes with black, white, tan and most single colour tops without any thought.

#25: Abstract Art Leggings

Abstract print leggings in painterly colour. The most individual pair here, and the one people ask about at the courts. Big irregular shapes hold up far better on a stretched fabric than small precise repeats do.
