Four hours in July with no shade is a genuinely demanding thing to dress for, and most men handle it by wearing the same cotton polo they wear in April. By the ninth it is soaked, by the fourteenth it is heavy, and the round gets worse for reasons that have nothing to do with the swing.

The two fixes are fabric and coverage. A technical polo or a long sleeve sun shirt beats cotton by a wide margin, and covering skin beats exposing it once the sun is properly up.
