OUR MISSION:  To financially assist Connecticut cancer patients and their families and to fund cancer research.

A Touchdown for Cancer Patients

The Jon Gruden “Chalk Talk” event on September 3rd was an overwhelming success. The Pier A at the Loft in New York was an absolutely stunning and historic setting where Jon and Ron Jaworski  entertained guests as they wined and dined and listened to their exclusive analysis of the upcoming 2015 NFL season. The Connecticut Sports Foundation and its beneficiaries are truly grateful to Jon Gruden, Ron Jaworski and all of the guests who attended and supported this event, where more than $100,000 was raised to continue financial assistance to Connecticut cancer patients, as well as to fund crucial cancer research at MSK!

2015 Rebecca Lobo's Clinic Against Cancer

Our first Rebecca Lobo Basketball Clinic, held at Sacred Heart University was a worthy start to what we hope will become an annual fundraiser.   A great big thanks to Rebecca for donating her time and talents, making the clinic a fun, once in a lifetime experience to learn from one of the best.  The girls picked up valuable basketball pointers from the Connecticut legend!  Another big thanks to the Sacred Heart University Women’s Basketball Team for volunteering their help to make the event an enjoyable learning experience for the participants; they were an outstanding representation of SHU. The girls were in awe of Rebecca and the SHU women!

July 2015 m.e.l.t.-A-THON

M.E.L.T. Workout Studios hosted a fundraiser for the CT Sports Foundation Against Cancer at Center Springs Park in Manchester, CT on July 11, 2015. Sixteen teams with over 120 participants sweated for a cause in a relay boot camp-style workout for a total of four sessions. Workout activities included a group morning stretch, hill “crawl”, pushups, run relay, tire toss and heavy weight push. Sponsored by Panera Bread which provided the refreshments and other area businesses and organizations, this Workout Against Cancer fondly dubbed the “Melt-a-thon,” raised over $26,000 to benefit 5 year old Gavin from Manchester and other Connecticut cancer patients.
