About the Connecticut Sports Foundation
The Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF) is a non-profit with a 501(c)(3) designation and its mission is to financially assist Connecticut cancer patients and their families and to fund cancer research.
CSF was founded in 1987 to financially assist cancer patients and their families and fund cancer research. For the past 28 years, through its CT Cancer Patient Assistance Program, CSF has granted over $4 million to more than 4,000 Connecticut families dealing with the financial hardship that often follows a cancer diagnosis. In addition, CSF has donated more than $1.7 million to support ongoing cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
CSF is committed to reducing the burden of cancer for Connecticut cancer patients and their families. CSF is a unique organization in Connecticut that provides direct financial assistance to Connecticut cancer patients for rent/mortgage, utilities, medical co-pays, food, medications, and more. Patients are referred to CSF via a network of oncology social workers at Connecticut hospitals and cancer centers. Resources are provided with dignity and privacy, helping patients maintain self respect while lessening the stress that may inhibit their recovery.
